Recommendations Received for Columbus State ÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ Presidency

Board of Regents Chair Neil L. Pruitt Jr. and ÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ System of Georgia (ÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ) Chancellor Hank Huckaby have announced the names of the three finalists for the Columbus State ÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ presidency.
The recommended finalists are:
ÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ¢ Dr. Randy Hanna, former chancellor, Florida College System. Hanna has a law degree from Florida State ÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ and a doctorate in higher education management from the ÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ of Pennsylvania. He was chancellor of the Florida College System and Division of Florida Colleges from 2011 to 2015. He has been a college professor, college board member, trustee for various educational and state organizations; and an attorney for a Tallahassee law firm, the Florida Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services and U.S. Senator Bob Graham.
ÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ¢ Dr. Chris Markwood, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs, Texas A&M ÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ-Corpus Christi, Texas. Markwood has a doctorate in political science from the ÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ of Missouri-Columbia. He has served at Texas A&M ÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ-Corpus Christi since 2011. Previously, he served as interim chancellor and vice president for academic affairs, and dean of faculties at the ÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ of Wisconsin-Superior. HeÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ™s also served and taught at the ÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ of Central Oklahoma and Lamar ÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ in Texas.
ÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ¢ Dr. Carl Stockton, provost and senior vice president for Academic Affairs, ÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ of Houston-Clear Lake, Texas. Stockton has a doctorate in health education from the ÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ of Tennessee. He has been in his current role at the ÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ of Houston-Clear Lake since 2007. He previously served as a dean at the ÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ of Texas at Brownsville. He has also served and taught at the ÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ of North Carolina at Wilmington and Radford ÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ in Virginia.
The Board of Regents is expected to name the next president of Columbus State ÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ at a future meeting.
