WHAT:
Ninth annual Board of Regents Salute to Education

  • Bernard will present Gov. Deal with a check in support of the governorÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ™s Realizing Educational Achievement Can Happen (REACH) scholarship program.
  • Adams will receive the Elridge McMillan Lifetime Achievement Award for his service to higher education in Georgia.
  • Four alumni of the ÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ will be named to the RegentsÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ™ Alumni Hall of Fame.
  • Four ÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ faculty members will receive the Felton Jenkins Jr. Hall of Fame faculty award.

WHEN:
Saturday, March 23, 2013

The governor and chancellor will deliver greetings at approximately 8:45-9:00 p.m., following dinner. The awards will follow the governorÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ™s remarks at approximately 9:10 p.m. At approximately 9:15 p.m., Chairman Ken Bernard will present Gov. Deal with a $50,000 contribution to the REACH program.

WHY:
The event raises significant funding for scholarships, recognizes distinguished faculty and alumni of the ÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ System of Georgia and honors an individual who has demonstrated a lifetime of extraordinary service to higher education in Georgia.
