College of Coastal Georgia Presidential Search Committee Named

Atlanta — November 8, 2012

ÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ System of Georgia Chancellor Hank Huckaby, in consultation with Board of Regents Chairman Ben Tarbutton III, has announced the formation of the two committees required by regentsÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ™ policy to conduct a national search to replace College of Coastal Georgia President Valerie Hepburn, who will step down in May 2013.

The Special RegentsÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ™ Search Committee will be chaired by Regent Richard Tucker and include Regents C. Dean Alford, Rusty Griffin and Robert Hatcher. Tarbutton will serve as an ex-officio member of this committee.

The search and screening of candidates is the responsibility of a 12-member Presidential Search and Screen Committee, whose members also are appointed by Tarbutton. Members of the Presidential Search and Screen Committee are as follows:

ÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ¢ Dr Phillis George, assistant professor of social science; director of service learning

The campus-based committee will be charged with its responsibilities in a meeting scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Mon., Nov. 26 at the College. The executive search firm of Greenwood/Asher & Associates, Miramar Beach, Fla., has been engaged to assist the search committee.

At the conclusion of its work, the campus committee will forward the credentials of three to five unranked candidates to the RegentsÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ™ Search Committee. The RegentsÖгöÉÙ¸¾ÊÓƵ™ Search Committee is responsible for recommending finalists to Huckaby, who will make a recommendation to the full Board of Regents.
